Kežmarok Castle

Located in the heart of the town Kežmarok, Kežmarok Castle is the dominant of the town. It was originally built by Imrich and Ján Zápoľský to defend the town in Gothic style. After extensive rebuilding in the years 1572-1624, the castle gained its Renaissance form. Part of the castle is the Museum of Kežmarok, which first opened in 1931.
